The last couple days have been days for Christmas ornaments. I have made up 5 of my very popular Groovy Siamese Kitty ornaments and have listed them in the Tiny Garden shop. This ornament can be customized if you wish by changing the background felt color, the collar sequin color and the snowflake color (contact me for choices).
I also put together an order for the Retro Reindeer, white on pink. It is not currently listed in my shop but if you are interested just contact me via Etsy and I can make you a listing for it. I am sticking to only listing ornaments that I have made already but will make an exception for requests.
I have edited my collages to reflect the additions. My pom poms come in small, medium, large and x-large and all details regarding sizes and colors are at The Tiny Garden on Etsy. I encourage custom orders, you may mix all colors and sizes into one listing by sending me an Etsy convo. You can also build your own pom pom garland with any of the colors. Have a look at my pre-designed styles HERE. These garlands are made with large pom poms but I can make them with other sizes if you wish.
I was recently inspired to pickup my felt and beads and finish some ornaments I had been working on earlier in the year. So far I have three new ones and will be adding listings back into the shop for ornaments that are ready to ship. Quantities are always limited the closer we get to Christmas so be sure and get your orders in early. If you don’t see what you want in the shop now please feel free to convo me with what you would like.
First thing, my yard is very small so things are close together. Second thing, I have a low rock bulkhead and rats and mice just love to crawl around in there. Yuck. I have been trying to keep rodents of all sorts out of my bird feeders but no matter what, I always end up with some loss of food. Sometimes at night I can hear rustling around the feeder, I turn on the outdoor lights and there is a big rat daring me to come and get him.
Squirrel lounging on my fence
For the most part, the best feeders have been the tube type with metal feeding holes (to discourage chewing by squirrels). My current tube feeder is succumbing to the very rainy weather we have and the screws holding the bottom on (which allow me to clean the feeder) are rusty and cannot be removed anymore. I searched around online the other day and discovered The Bouncer, I purchased it on Amazon. As you can see in the photos, the perches of the bouncer “fall” when anything heavier than a smallish bird tries to land on it or grab it, there are also nice clips to keep the top secure and it looks fairly rain resistant. Also take note that the feeder is 6x6x27 inches, rather huge compared to the usual store bought feeders. Now as you will also see in my photos, I do not have the appropriate post to hang my new feeder on and I think that will allow unwanted guests. So far I have witnessed a couple Stellar Jays snacking. Check back later because I have plans to install a post/pole that will foil all those nasty creatures. I must make a Lowe’s run soon!
I also love watching TV. I typically have several shows going at the same time, both catching up on past seasons and watching current seasons. I am completely up to date with The Walking Dead and have been watching it with my 16 year old son. We also have been watching season 2 of Grimm together. A couple years ago we started on the Lost adventure and binged on all 6 seasons, I still don’t quite understand what happened at the end of that series. Some research for another time, I think the kid got it though.
But, today I am posting about The Walking Dead comic book. I started reading the gigantor compendium a couple weeks ago and am liking it so far. It does have a very different feel than the TV show but that is OK. It is nice to have double The Walking Dead to entertain myself with.
Yesterday I was browsing around iTunes for new podcasts to add to my list (which is the only thing I use my old iPhone for) and I searched “the walking dead” to see what would pop up. If you scroll down the page you will see the book section and The Walking Dead comic Volume #1 is right there and it is FREE. I do already have the print version but who wouldn’t like to see it on their iPhone or iPad, right? So if you want to give the comic a look without committing to purchasing one of the many print choices, head on over to iTunes and give it a download. Let me know what you think of it you want. It looks as if it is a common practice for the comic book/graphic novel publishers to offer first volumes/editions for free. A great way to pull in new readers for sure. So while you are in iTunes go to books > graphic novels > free and perhaps you will find some other great comics to try.
